Literally translating to ‘extraordinary’, this quaint bistro has a charm of its own owing to its inviting minimal design and sorted space that oozes warmth along with old world charm. A fine blend of modern elements and warm hues with extensive use of bamboo altogether uplifts the overall vibe of the place. The moment you step inside, you really like to sit and order or perhaps read a book or simply enjoy the healthy organic food that they offer. The statement ‘simple pleasures of life’ will definitely resonate inside you and you will find yourself enjoying something similar at that moment.
I happened to discover this gem while I was in Jaipur for my birthday and hunting for a bakery shop. Came across this place famous for their cheesecakes but a single glance of their food displayed on the counter and I couldn’t wait to try! They were about to close when I reached, so I quickly ordered for whatever looked the most tempting and nonetheless fresh – Brie, Tomato & Fresh Basil in French bread with a pot of Earl Grey Tea.
Brie sandwich was juicy, every bit fresh and you can feel the flavors coming out of all ingredients individually pampering your taste buds one by one. The use of Basil was an awesome addition and it paired with the brie (cheese) perfectly. Cheese was soft, creamy, and oh, so good spread across the French bread.
Coming to the tea, it was one of the best Earl Greys I had after a long while. A pot of Earl Grey was enough for two. The empty tea cups were served with little biscuits which was a nice gesture. Tea was amazingly good and aromatic. I wish I tried more from their tea menu.
What I really liked the most was their fresh organic ingredients (grown locally at Anokhi farm) and the food presentation. I guess both of these things matter a lot (and definitely should) when you are eating out. The café is a hit for me, without a second thought!
They have whole good range of healthy juices, Pizzas, Sandwiches, Cookies and Cakes. I got myself a Carrot Cake packed (along with a few cookies) which had a good layer of cheese on top. What’s better than this to start my birthday with! And it came with a cute cloth bag instead of packed into a usual food bag, telling us about their environment friendliness!
I grabbed a few information catalogues including the Jaipur city map and left. The café remains on my radar until my next visit to Jaipur.
LTC’s recommendation : Must try their Cakes and Teas , don’t forget to check out the Anokhi Store lying adjacent to the café for its distinguished prints and contemporary clothing collection.

One café in Jaipur that I do not like. Their tea is good though. My favourite place remains Curious Life. That guy knows his coffee. 🙂
