Does travel and food give you a tick equally? Do you often hunt for food menus with different flavours from all over the world? And nonetheless, the perfect place to sit back and do your trip planning with a cuppa chai! Well, Café Wanderlust is the place to be for the serial wanderluster in you. I came across this place on Zomato and the next day itself, I rushed for dinner à deux with my bae.
To start with, I loved how this place looks – the hammock spaced in one corner with bean bags and nicely decorated with garden pebbles, low slung lounge seating in another and rest of the space lined with ottomans and cushioned seats. With such laid back air you get acquainted with the place pronto and next thing you know is your temptation to grab a book from the book shelf. If you ain’t a bibliophile, worry not. You can choose from the collection of board games they have.
Coming to the food, well who wouldn’t love to try the cuisine from length and breadth of India coupled with cosy vibes. Their menu is in fact a beautiful compilation of tiny travel tales from India and across. I was already salivating with their Wanderlust Specials menu (Around India) like Banarasi Chura Matar Chaat, Pahadi Sandwich, Patna’s Litti Chokha and Irani Bun Maska Omelette to name a few. Wanderlust Specials (Around the World) were equally intriguing. It took me a lot of time to select my order from plethora of options. And I finally settled with Mumbai Egg Vada Pav with cutting chai and Sikkim’s stuffed momo platter.
Served in a classic desi kettle (Mumbaiya style), their Cutting Chai was a straight winner for me, hands down! Especially during grizzly winters or pouring monsoons, if you are a tea aficionado like me you would love to frequent this place.
The Egg Vada Pav was simple and delectable. I loved the chutneys they served along with it. Their Sikkim Stuffed Momo Platter was strikingly good, loved every bit of it. The best thing about the place is the comfort food that you can have to your heart’s content without burning a hole in your pocket.
The place is awesome for social gatherings or casual hang out with your travel buddies. I would love to try their whole menu, one dish at a time or maybe two! They have amazing Breakfast options and tempting crepes that I would love to gorge on.Till then, Happy Wanderlusting, Happy Feasting!
